Don is a professionally trained musician. He started studying piano at the age of five, and played piano in high school orchestra and bass clarinet in the Virginia All State band. In addition, during his teen years, he was involved in developing music program in church.
He received his degree from Emory and Henry College, in Emory, Virginia, majoring in music and specializing in Applied Musical Performance (organ). He has done work on the graduate level at Westminster Choir College of Princeton, New Jersey.
Don has held positions as Senior Church Organist as well as Music Director in church settings. In addition, he has served as Music Director in secondary education. He has taught both piano and organ for more than fifteen years, and was a tenor in the Bristol Virginia - Tennessee Concert Choir for fifteen years.
Don was founder and owner of De Busk Associates, a marketing firm serving churches and schools in all fifty states before retiring in 2003.
